"The Sunflower Boys"

Sunflower Landcare started with a broken shovel, a squeaky wheelbarrow and three Kansas boys with a dream of owning and operating a landscaping business. The first few months were the most challenging because we didn’t know what to charge clients, which suppliers to use, what trucks to drive, or what a backflow preventer was. Through months of trial and error we discovered that providing high quality landscaping, great customer service and hard work were the keys to great business. We still operate under those same principals but, now have experience on our side. We pride ourselves in creativity, attention to detail and an unmatched work ethic. We have happy customers and will continue to provide for them in the years to come.

Sheldon Funk (Co-owner)

Was born and raised in Hillsboro, Kansas. He is the heavy equipment operator, mechanic, water feature guy and handles pretty much anything that requires a lot of detail.

Dustin Hamilton (Co-owner)

Dustin was born and raised in Hesston, Kansas. He is the irrigation installer, lighting installer, designer and the organizer of the crew.

Jeff Schmidt (Co-owner)

Jeff was born and raised in Phillipsburg, Kansas. He is the concrete guy, fence guy and deals with the customer service side of things.

The truth is we all have our hands in how the business is run. Sunflower Landcare wouldn’t operate without the attributes that the three of us bring to the company. We are friends first and business partners second. Customers ask “where’s your crew?” and the answer is ‘We are the crew.” We are the ones who show up from start to finish.
